The genus Callicarpa of Korea were investigated using RAPD markers. One hundred and thirty four RAPDs were obtained from thirty-eight genotypes and data analysis was performed using the UPGMA method based on Jaccard`s similarity coefficients. A dendrogram showed that all of the taxa were divided into three clusters; C. dichotoma, C. japonica, and C. mollis. The differentiation of these taxa showed a sequential pattern. In the C. japonica cluster, var. japonica accessions and var. taquetii accessions were completely mixed; however, var. luxurians accessions were distinctly separated from accessions of other taxa. Also, in the C. mollis cluster, var. mollis accessions and C. chejuensis accessions were entirely mixed. C. mollis var. microphylla accessions were divided into a subcluster of the var. mollis clusters.
